Velvet, subtle glitter, hints of red, faux fur, statement accessories and, perhaps more often than not, black. These are some of the things I tend to go for in festive outfits! Just thought I'd share some of the looks that I keep in my inspiration folder for the odd Christmas party. credit: styleheroine.com, vogue.com, zimbio, zara, cosstores.com, pinterest
Over-the-knee boots
I'm not really planning on getting a lot of new stuff for my autumn and winter wardrobe and I am not big on trends but if there's one I can see myself sporting right now it definitely is the over-the-knee boot. I love how they make for such an effortlessly cool eye-catching part of any outfit. I actually think that it's one of the few trends that I have always followed when it came around again in the past. And this season I'm also interested in trying to make the suede block heeled over-the-knee boots work for me - but I have yet to find a pair that suit my not-exactly-long-and-lean legs. And, of course, there's also the matter of budget. But anyway, if those were not issues I think these (below) are some of the best options that I have found so far.. NYFW Fall 2015 Favourites
My favourite Fall 2015 collections shown at New York Fashion Week earlier this month had to be by these designers shown above. Victoria Beckham continues to impress with her cool yet ladylike designs which now appear to be a lot more relaxed than they used to be earlier on in her designing career. The Row's new collection is as clean and effortlessly elegant as always and Rosetta Getty inspires me to experiment a little more with details and colours. Michael Kors showed great layering, gorgeous gold accents and a bunch of fantastic coats that I would not mind adding to my wardrobe. The Opening Ceremony and Tibi collections both stood out for me because of the great culottes that I'm obviously still obsessed with. Rosie Assoulin makes me want to give new shapes and colours a try - with that stunning green look in particular! And finally, Proenza Schouler's rawness just rocked.
