Velvet, subtle glitter, hints of red, faux fur, statement accessories and, perhaps more often than not, black. These are some of the things I tend to go for in festive outfits! Just thought I'd share some of the looks that I keep in my inspiration folder for the odd Christmas party. credit: styleheroine.com, vogue.com, zimbio, zara, cosstores.com, pinterest
Golden Globes 2015 Red Carpet Wishes
Awards Season officially kicks off this weekend with the Golden Globes on Sunday night. I'm excited as ever and very interested to find out who is taking home the awards! The red carpet should be fun to watch too with people like Gwyneth, Kate Hudson and Kerry Washington attending. But for now, here's my little list of what I wish some of the nominees will be wearing. (use the prev and next buttons to navigate through the gallery above)
Rosamund Pike: She often wears black and has also worn some stunning yellow designs in the past but this time I would like to see her in this simple but striking blue dress from Lanvin.
Reese Witherspoon: Nominated for her role in 'Wild', Reese wears a lot of form-fitting dresses and often in bold colours. I'd be happy to see her in something a little more sweet this time and I'm sure this pale green Oscar de la Renta dress would look angelic on her.
Julianne Moore: She is one of my favourite actresses and is nominated for TWO Golden Globes this year: for her roles in 'Still Alice' and in 'Maps to the Stars'. She's worn some fantastic black gowns in the past and I would like to see her in a dark design again, but in a richer tone maybe, and a classic timeless shape. This Jason Wu dress would be perfect for her.
Meryl Streep: Meryl would surely look her usual amazing self in this purple Caroline Herrera design.
Emma Stone: Emma is never afraid of taking risks and always manages to wow everyone on the red carpet. This fairytale-like Delpozo dress would complement her hair colour and skintone like a dream!
Keira Knightley: As shown many times before, Keira and Valentino are a match made in heaven. And now that she's pregnant, this white lace dress from the New York Couture collection would look particularly sweet on her, I'm sure.
Jessica Chastain: Another red haired actress who likes to go all out on the red carpet. I could see her in this bold red sparkly Armani Privé Couture dress - and with it once again end up on many a Best Dressed list.
Amy Adams: I'm always hoping to see Amy in green again as that colour looks beyond amazing on her. But a romantic floral dress like this Giambattista Valli Couture one could look spectacular on her as well.
Jennifer Aniston: I'm hoping Jennifer Aniston will keep it simple as that always seems to work best for her. I'd really like to see her in this sexy green slip dress from Alexander Wang.
Emily Blunt: Emily never fails to impress with her red carpet looks. I wish to see her in something classic and simple this time, like this Ralph Lauren dress.
Viola Davis: The star of the tv drama series 'How to Get Away with Murder' has worn many colourful gowns in the past that always suit her so well, but this time I would like to pick this pale green Elie Saab dress for her to wear tomorrow. The shape of it is the perfect one for her body type as well.
Felicity Jones: Nominated for her role in 'The Theory of Everything', this British actress will no doubt make an impression on the Golden Globes red carpet tomorrow. I would love it if she would pick a British designer and wore this yellow Erdem dress.
Claire Danes: Claire is nominated again for her role in the tv series 'Homeland'. We've seen her on many red carpets already in the past but I can't remember ever seeing her wear an actual ballgown shape. The black colour and the simple embroidery keep this Oscar de la Renta gown that I picked for her from looking too girly.
Michelle Monaghan: This sparkly slip dress from Jason Wu would be perfect for Michelle to wear and show off her amazing toned figure.
Ruth Wilson: Ruth often opts for more quirky looks and is never afraid to take a risk. This bright red dress from Antonio Berardi would really make her stand out.
Anyone else planning on watching the show tomorrow?
