May, for me, was about work as well as fun, lots of interior inspiration and, like every year, the Cannes Film Festival! I loved finally seeing Julia Roberts attend the festival - it was about time and, my gosh, did she look like a true Hollywood star in that black off-shoulder Armani Privé, or what?!

Cannes Film Festival

The 2014 Cannes Film Festival will kick off tomorrow and, like every year, I am pretty excited about these 10 days full of film news and red carpet glamour! I have my red carpet wishlist ready and here's hoping stars like Nicole Kidman, Lea Seydoux and Sienna Miller can make some of them (sort of) come true! Among the film reviews to look out for this festival are 'Clouds of Sils Maria' (Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart), 'Maps to the Stars' (Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska), 'The Homesman' (Tommy Lee Jones, Hilary Swank) and 'Foxcatcher' (Steve Carell, Channing Tatum). The opening film of the festival this year is Olivier Dahan's 'Grace of Monaco', starring Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly, a film I'm quite looking forward to finally see myself later this month. For some reason my expectations of it aren't too high, though, but the obvious glamour of it makes it hard to resist. The Grand Budapest Hotel

I finally went to see the incredibly stylish 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' last night! And a world created by Wes Anderson, as you may know, is an obsessively detailed one of right angles and perfect colour combinations which I can't help but find absolutely irresistible. In this film the locations were brought to life by production designer Adam Stockhausen who previously worked on Anderson's 'The Darjeeling Limited' and 'Moonrise Kingdom'. If spontaneity is your thing 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' might not be for you but otherwise I'd say this film is a definite must-see. Clever storyline, an impressive cast and top notch cinematography.
