Oscars 2014

A bit shocked I was to realise that I haven't even done one single film post since my Oscars post a year ago. I know I haven't been too excited about most of the films I've watched these past months but I still didn't think it had been a whole year since I last came up with a film related post?! So anyway, my favourite night of the year is finally almost here - it's the Oscars tomorrow! And here's what I'm hoping will happen:

First of all, I'm expecting (and hoping for) some great looks on the red carpet! You'll be able to heck out all my red carpet wishes here. And as for the actual film awards I vote: 'Gravity' for Best Film. It's perfect in its simplicity and was by far the most interesting film for me this year. Plus, space and Sandra Bullock happen to be two of my favourite things anyway. / Cate Blanchett for Best Actress. / Leonardo DiCaprio for Best Actor. It doesn't even matter what I think of each of the individual performances in this category (all great) as I just think it's TIME. Leo is fantastic as always in 'The Wolf of Wall Street'. I would have rather seen him win for a different film but I don't even care anymore. IT IS TIME! / Jared Leto for Best Supporting Actor. 'Dallas Buyers Club' I thought was a pretty good film and deserves an award or two, not in the least for Jared's convincing role as a drag. Would be a pleasure seeing him and his perfect man bun up on that stage tomorrow. Also loved Barkhad Abdi's performance ("I'm the captain now") in 'Captain Phillips'. And speaking of that one, I think Tom Hanks was snubbed big time this award season. Great performance, great film. / Lupita Nyong'o for Best Supporting Actress. Or anyone else but Jennifer Lawrence.

Did you guys have any favourites this year??

Red Carpet Season

Sooo.. Awards Season has kicked off this week and you may remember from previous years on my blog that I'm the kind of geek who gets pretty excited about this. However, I've only actually seen a few of the films yet that are in the "race" this year so this means that I'm going to be really busy catching up on those over the next few weeks! And what it also means is that until then I will mainly be focusing on the red carpets instead. I've picked out a few (mostly current season) gowns I'd love to see the (so far) nominated actresses wear on the red carpet and so tomorrow on Golden Globes night I'll be holding my breath (no, really..) to see if any of them (and their stylists, obviously) will make my red carpet wish come true - OR if perhaps they've had an even better styling idea 'cause I sure wouldn't mind some big custom made surprises either.
