Favourites from MFW Fall 2014

Favourites from the Milan Fall 2014 collections. I was particularly inspired by the different skirt-over-trouser ideas. The b&w Sportmax outfit is a great example of how crazy chic this can look. Something else that's striking me is how many flat shoes we're seeing on the runway this season. Loafers, ballerinas, lace-up shoes.. My favourite Milan collections this time have to be Costume National, Jil Sander, Marni and Sportmax.

Favourites from LFW Fall 2014

Random looks that stood out from me from the London Fashion Week collections this week. Many new scarf wearing ideas (Burberry Prorsum, Mark Fast..), more lessons in layering (Richard Nicoll, Paul Smith..) and definitely a little bit more colour than the looks I picked from New York Fashion Week last week. I'd happily see myself drown in one of those fuzzy coats (Felder Felder, Topshop Unique..) or give that bright orange loose fit Preen suit with peplum detail a try sometime. The grey knitted sweater dress by Joseph is what I'd most like to be wearing right now though, it looks insanely comfortable and I love how its styled with the matching beanie and sturdy lace-up boots as well. Lessons in layering

A random streetstyle pic I came across just now while going through a bunch of #LFW streetstyle snaps. The left look especially caught my eye because of the interesting layers. She's wearing what looks like a belted striped shirt over a different bright coloured shirt and this alone I think looks good.. (I'm not a big fan of bold colours but this is subtle enough!) but then the gorgeous blue coat is the icing on the cake. Such a fun and effortless daytime look. Loving the big coat worn over the denim jacket on the right as well, the subtlety of denim in this look is what makes it interesting, otherwise I definitely would not even have given this outfit another look. Anyway, this season I guess it couldn't hurt if we all tried to be a little more inventive when it comes to layering!

Favourites from NYFW Fall 2014

Here's a bunch of my favourite looks from NYFW. You'll notice my continued appreciation for anything slouchy and loose fit as well as a colour palette that lacks, well, colour. I don't suspect that come autumn I'll suddenly want to dress in bold pink and purple so more grey, black and neutrals it is. However, from now on I probably will opt for waistbelts a little more often (as seen at Theory), give the occasional ruffle a try (as seen at Victoria Beckham) and experiment with new ways of layering (corsets óver sweaters, blazers óver coats..?) - Excited to see what the London collections have in store for us! #LFW

MBFW Stockholm

These pictures were shot at Whyred and Carin Wester, 2 of my favourite shows I got to attend during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Stockholm earlier this week. The appeal was mostly in the comfortable loose fits, the coats and the neutral colour palette. Styling was a treat for the eyes also, with Whyred going for fur scarves and Carin Wester sporting simple waistbelts and white fishnets worn óver shoes. These last two definitely being a cute way to update our oversized daytime looks to appear a little more ladylike again.

Check out these collections in full, and the rest of the MBFW Stockholm shows, here.
