As a longtime fan of the original Converse All Stars I, of course, had to give the new version of these classic shoes (the Chuck II) a try as well! While the originals took a long time to get worn in, these new ones are instantly comfortable because of the added cushioning and I definitely think that's the biggest plus about these shoes. The design got a nice update as well, not too different from the original and so they are still easy to wear with any kind of outfit. They absolutely get a big thumbs up from me.

Style Forever
Alyson Walsh is the wonderfully witty woman behind the blog That's Not My Age. I've had the pleasure of meeting her for a Google Hangout with Lauren Laverne two years ago and have been following her on her blog and Instagram ever since. With her blog she started the conversation about grown-up style and she has now written a book as well, to continue sharing tips and ideas on how to look fabulous at any age.
I see Style Forever as one of those books we can use to actually celebrate getting older and staying true to (or making the absolute most of) our style. As opposed to today's obsession with focus on youth, botox and airbrushing. Besides Alyson's advice and ideas this book is full of beautiful illustrations (by Leo Greenfield) and interesting interviews with stylish mature women like Teruku Burrell and Iris Apfel.
Obviously I still have a few more years to go until I reach the age this book is sort of aimed at (generation FAB: Fifty And Beyond) but as an image consultant and stylist myself I naturally enjoy reading about other people's take on style and fashion. Also, this book makes a great gift for our mums - mine loved it.
