I recently came across these gorgeous illustrations/paper cut-outs created by architect and fashion illustrator Shamekh from Jordan. Aren't they inspiring? I love these kind of finds. - Especially when it's too hot to come up with any sort of new material to post myself. Me and heat do not agree. credit: instagram shamekhbluwi
JORD wood watch
My big brother recently became a dad! And as a happy and proud aunt I'm glad I got to snap a few shots of him posing with my baby niece while showing off his gorgeous new JORD 'Dover' wood watch at the same time. This automatic watch with exhibition face is made of mixed woods and has a very classic appeal. You can shop for both men's and women's style JORD wood watches here. all images by me for Fash n Chips
James Horner
Ahh. I woke up to the incredibly sad news that Hollywood composer James Horner (61) has died in a plane crash. I was fortunate enough to have just seen him at the Royal Albert Hall back in April (see image above) and to have heard him speak passionately about his work and particularly the score he composed for 'Titanic'. Like so many others, I fell head over heels in love with 'Titanic' and its music when I first saw it. I was 13 y/o and I don't mind it sounding cheesy when I say it's been a pretty big part of my life ever since. So I wish I could simply thank James for completely blowing my young mind and thank him for the amazing collection of work he leaves behind! Amanda Seyfried & Dog Finn
[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvTEHb-vtAo[/embed] As someone who also used to have a four legged best friend (r.i.p. Kobus!) I am such a fan of Amanda Seyfried's Instagram account (mingey) as all of her images of and with her dog Finn are so relatable and so very cute. Amanda is on the cover of the Vogue US June issue and they've made this fantastic video of her and Finn to go with the occasion. Needless to say I'm obsessed with it - they should have definitely put Finn on the cover with her, if you ask me.

2015 Cannes Film Festival
The 2015 Cannes Film Festival kicks off today and I'm excited as ever about all the film news and reviews that will be coming our way over the next 11 days. Among the films that will premiere during this year's festival are 'Macbeth' (Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard), Todd Haynes' 'Carol' (Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara) and 'Louder Than Bombs' (Jesse Eisenberg and Amy Ryan), as well as Woody Allen's 'Irrational Man' (Emma Stone and Joaquin Phoenix), Natalie Portman's 'A Tale of Love and Darkness' and the animation film 'Le Petit Prince'. The festival will open today with the film 'La tête haute' by Emmanuelle Bercot, which, interestingly enough, happens to be only the second opening film in the festival's history to have been directed by a woman.
The Cannes red carpet seems promising this year as well, with red carpet fashion favourites such as Emma Stone, Cate Blanchett and Diane Kruger attending. Here's hoping someone will finally wear that gorgeous Valentino Couture dress I've been dying to see off the runway (and without the jacket) since January!
