Picture Postcard #11
Grey linen culottes
Spring over here where I live is as confusing as usual. Summer trousers, winter coats.. my outfits are all over the place lately. As is my mood and my hayfever! But anyway, these linen Monki trousers are actually quite perfect for the upcoming months - come rain or come shine.

Paintings for Ants
Just a little something special before I sign off for the weekend! Have you heard about Cape Town-based miniaturist painter Lorraine Loots? In 2013 and 2014 she took on a 365 day challenge of creating one miniature painting a day (called 365 Paintings for Ants and 365 Postcards for Ants) and now she's working on a new project, called Potluck 100. For this 2015 series she will create 100 paintings in four different categories and, let me tell you, so far I'm absolutely obsessed with each and every one of them. Lorraine auctions off all her paintings via Instagram, so.. miniature moon, miniature Chucks or even a miniature Bill Murray in 'The Life Aquatic', anyone??

Lace-up sandals
I know I always say I don't care about trends and, honestly, I hardly pay attention to them. But if there's one trend this season that apparently we can not ignore it's the lace-up (or gladiator) sandal. Although I will say the knee-high lace-ups seem to only be meant for girls with skinny calves as no one wants their legs to look "trapped". For that reason also I am personally going for the safer ankle version (see image #5) from Belle by Sigerson Morrison. With a simple cottony no-frills outfit they definitely look very cute.
