I haven't done a film post in a while so thought it was about time I shared another favourite of mine; 'Once'. This film is about a Dublin busker who meets a Czech immigrant who sells roses on the streets and they start playing music together. It's a pure and simple film that has been filmed in a documentary reality style and makes you feel like you're actually a part of their story. The two main characters are played by musicians Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova - so they're not actually actors, but you could have fooled me. In 2008 they won an Oscar for their song 'Falling slowly', a beautiful duet (see/listen video below!) played in one of my favourite scenes from the film.. A must-see!
