It's King's Day in the Netherlands and what outfit could possibly be more appropriate to wear on this occasion than an "orange" sweater?! While the King and Queen Maxima are visiting my hometown today I myself am actually over in London checking out the Alexander McQueen exhibition at the V&A. I will also be spending my evening at the Royal Albert Hall and so overall I think this day pretty much deserves a crown.

Expanding Universe
Apparently today is World Book Day and so I thought I'd show you guys my new favourite book! TASCHEN released the absolute breathtaking hardcover book 'Expanding Universe' right in time for my Birthday and so this made for an awesome gift - thanks Paul! To celebrate the Hubble Space Telescope's 25th anniversary in space TASCHEN have handpicked its most striking images and put them together in this coffee table book and I can tell you it's an absolute must-have for anyone with an interest in our universe, in photography or in just having your mind blown. Paintings for Ants
Just a little something special before I sign off for the weekend! Have you heard about Cape Town-based miniaturist painter Lorraine Loots? In 2013 and 2014 she took on a 365 day challenge of creating one miniature painting a day (called 365 Paintings for Ants and 365 Postcards for Ants) and now she's working on a new project, called Potluck 100. For this 2015 series she will create 100 paintings in four different categories and, let me tell you, so far I'm absolutely obsessed with each and every one of them. Lorraine auctions off all her paintings via Instagram, so.. miniature moon, miniature Chucks or even a miniature Bill Murray in 'The Life Aquatic', anyone??

Nice photo diary
Just some random impressions from my sunny little trip to Nice last week. The Promenade des Anglais apparently gets pretty crowded during the summer months but it was absolutely lovely now. Perfect temperature, a clear sea with big beautiful waves and a fresh blue sky to match.
