So the annual MET Costume Institute Gala took place in New York yesterday and the theme of this year's exhibit, which opens to the public on May 9th, is ”Punk: Chaos to Couture”. It will come as no surprise to you that I'm not exactly an expert in punk, but I did of course notice who did and did not stick to the theme at last night's event. I watched the red carpet livestream on vogue.com and some of my favourite looks of the night were Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy Haute Couture, Sienna Miller and Cara Delevingne in Burberry, Cameron Diaz in Stella McCartney, Diane Kruger in Chanel Haute Couture and Ashley Olsen in vintage Dior Haute Couture. In celebration of the Costume Institute Benefit, Moda Operandi will hold a Spotlight event, beginning tomorrow, that will enable women to purchase select looks worn by celebrities on the event's red carpet such as Gisele Bundchen, Kate Bosworth, Emma Watson, Dakota Fanning, Taylor Swift, and Olivia Wilde, among others, and designed by today’s most established and vanguard designers. Moda Operandi previously announced the eagerly anticipated exclusive punk collection that debuted on May 2nd. The collection of over 100 items includes new and exclusive pieces by designers such as Balmain, Givenchy, Prabal Gurung, Thom Browne, and Vivienne Westwood; in addition to one-of-a-kind pieces, rare vintage fashion, and art objects. You can find it HERE.
