Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty & The 2011 MET Costume Institute Gala

After the fabulous Royal Wedding Day on Friday (I watched and enjoyed every second of it - and WOW, Kate's Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown was absolute perfection) I've been feeling quite poorly the rest of the weekend and I have very little inspiration for a new post. However, I really felt like sharing my excitement about the 2011 MET Costume Institute Gala (MET Ball) that takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art tomorrow, May 2nd. The gala will kick off the "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" exhibition, which is a retrospective of more than two decades of McQueen's work. I REALLY wish I could go visit this exhibition, but since I can't really see a trip to NY happening for me this year I think I'll just settle for getting the book instead - "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" (includes in-depth studies of six collections that illustrate and encapsulate thematic chapters as well as an interview with Sarah Burton, the new creative director of Alexander McQueen)

Can't wait to see who's going to be at the MET Ball this year, since I haven't been able to find an official guest list yet. But anyway, on Tuesday morning I'll be posting all my favourite looks from the gala over at I Like Your Look.!
