Nice photo diary
Just some random impressions from my sunny little trip to Nice last week. The Promenade des Anglais apparently gets pretty crowded during the summer months but it was absolutely lovely now. Perfect temperature, a clear sea with big beautiful waves and a fresh blue sky to match.

COS A/W 2015
My favourite looks from the COS A/W 2015 lookbook. Being way more of an Autumn/Winter person than a Spring/Summer person I am already looking forward to browsing these items in the COS store in a few months from now. I'll always be a fan of the gorgeous heavy fabrics and the clean cuts you can find at COS and that big dark green jumper is already on my wishlist. Use the prev and next buttons to navigate through the gallery above.

Le Negresco in Nice
As I mentioned (here) I spent a few days in Nice last week and got to stay at one of The Leading Hotels of the World; Le Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais. The palatial hotel with the famous pink dome was named after Henri Negresco who had hired architect Édouard-Jean Niermans to design the place in 1912. After World War 2, in which Le Negresco was used as a hospital, the hotel was sold to the family Augier. Madame Jeanne Augier then renovated the hotel and filled it with luxurious decorations and furnishings. The hotel now more looks like a museum as it holds Madame Augier's impressive art collection, including works by Moretti, Dalí and sculptress Niki de Saint-Phalle, mixed with historical paintings and rare antiques.
Every room in the hotel has its own unique design and every floor is decorated around its own theme. Having breakfast in the La Rotonde Brasserie made me feel like I was Alice in Wonderland. The bold coloured decor based on a 18th century carousel makes for a fabulous warm and yet bright restaurant. The breakfast itself also made me wish I was more hungry in the mornings as all of it looked and tasted outstanding. My favourite part of the hotel had to be the Royal Lounge, though, a.k.a. Le Negresco's "soul" which can be found under the large glass dome (classified as a Historical Monument). With its chandelier containing 16,800 pieces of Baccarat glass this space is truly breathtaking.
Overall this hotel stay has been an incredibly enjoyable experience and Le Negresco turned out to be the perfect place to celebrate my Birthday at.

From the Côte d' Azur
Apparently I'm now trying to get myself sponsored by Coca Cola. I know it's 2015 and I should be giving lectures on the importance of clean green food and all that, but YOLO. And I love my Diet Coke. As you may have seen on my Instagram I spent some days in beautiful Nice on the Côte d' Azur this week and, besides this photo, I will definitely share a few more shots from that trip on here after the Easter Holiday. For now I hope you will all have a lovely weekend - enjoy!
