Jantaminiau Couture Spring 2011

Dutch designer Jan Taminiau presented his Couture collection for Spring 2011 in Paris today and I think it's simply gorgeous. “100% artistic freedom. Couture has nothing to do with reality or being wearable,” is what the designer said about his inspiration. I have to say I can quite imagine some of these gowns on the red carpet though and I believe those stunning capes to be quite wearable also. Maybe Princess Máxima could rock one next Queen's Day? :)

Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring 2011

Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week kicked off today and John Galliano for Christian Dior  was amongst the first designers to present his Haute Couture collection for Spring 2011. It's a strong collection, inspired by illustrator Rene Gruau, with voluminous dresses, cinched waists and bold colours as well as soft pastel tones. I especially adore the second look I posted, as the colours are stunning and suit the model's pale skin so beautifully. This collection wasn't really anything new, but it's exactly what you would expect from Dior at its best - and after a few disappointing Dior collections I can honestly say I LOVE this one :) And don't these looks above just SCREAM Springtime?

You can view the entire collection HERE and check out this video of the show:

Coco Rocha for Numéro #88

These shots by Sølve Sundsbø are from a 2007 editorial in Numéro #88. This has to be my absolute favourite Coco Rocha ed ever, it's completely dreamy and I love the soft colours and the way Coco's ginger curly hairdo stands out.

Voici Paris! Haute Couture

Some impressions of the "Voici Paris! Haute Couture" exhibition I visited in Den Haag in March last year. I used a normal camera to take photos, so the quality isn't too great, but you get the idea :) The entire exhibition was amazing and I spent hours looking at all the pieces (Dior, Armani Privé, Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier and so on). I had of course fallen in love with Diane Kruger's Golden Globes gown by Christian Lacroix just a few weeks before, so seeing this one up close was so exciting for me. As was watching all the amazing detailing on the Chanel pieces from the Haute Couture Spring 2009 collection, which you can see in the video below.
